Click Here if you Googled MIS and Still Don’t Understand

What is MIS? Well as our technology use continues to grow and our demand for fast and secure data remains even more pressing, the need for Information Security Officers becomes clearer. Technology will always be pushing us toward innovation and as students that are graduating with IT related degrees, we will be the ones creating these developments and breakthroughs. Although computer science is the first field of study that comes to mind when you hear IT, there is another side to technology, the business side. Technology supports businesses and businesses are supported by technology. You can’t have one without the other and succeed. Management Information Systems is an IT related degree, but with a business perspective. There are both business and computer related courses that comprise the MIS course list. Student’s pre-core classes are business focused, while the core classes are focused on technology. All business students are required to take Business Writing, Business Law, and Environments in Business, but only MIS majors learn the coding rules of Java, the basics to Network telecommunications, and insight into cyber security. Are you interested in learning more or thinking about switching Majors? Check out our website for updates in the tech related fields and join the MIS Society to stay updated on job opportunities and internships. Membership is free!
